Cracking Furnace Dilution Steam Control
Improve yield, reduce maintenance and decrease coke deposition rate
Failure to maintain the optimal steam to hydrocarbon ratio in the cracker reduces olefins production and increases the coke deposition rate. Dilution steam is often measured using several redundant differential pressure transmitters piped to an orifice plate which are prone to impulse line plugging from coke fines in the steam. Rosemount dual and quad vortex meters have a non-clog design that have been proven to increase plant efficiency by as much as 2% and reduce decoking cost and maintenance.
