MBA Opportunities

Emerson continues to serve as a great accelerator for my career. I knew coming out of graduate school I wanted to make meaningful impact in the lives of employees and to a business that aligned to my personal values. Emerson allows me just that. Emerson’s MBA Leadership Program opened doors and opportunities that would not have existed otherwise. I have ownership and flexibility of my career and the ability to continue to grow as a leader. I am supported by encouraging peers and colleagues, empowered by my manager, and challenged by sponsors and mentors. ​

I chose Emerson because of the people and the opportunities. During my summer internship, I was put on a major project team and given a data analysis workstream. I thought after I’d completed my analysis, I’d be given something else to analyze. Not at Emerson! I was given the chance to own and implement my proposal, and in that process was able to showcase my leadership skills which ultimately landed me a full-time offer. I’m grateful to Emerson for giving me and others like me the chance to prove themselves on stretch projects.

The company has well-established leadership program​s​ that provide MBA graduates with opportunities to work on challenging projects in a global environment, develop their skills, and grow as leaders within the company. The program also offers mentorship and training opportunities, which have been instrumental in shaping my career path. In my 1.5 years stint, I have had the opportunity to work on projects that were innovative and challenging, and it was exciting to see my ideas come to life. Emerson has operations in more than 150 countries. It is a melting pot of different cultures and backgrounds. Hence, it provides a unique opportunity to gain international experience and develop a global perspective.​

I had the possibility to increased my role and responsibilities, working in different short and mid-long term projects which help me to grew as individual and professional singular contributor and manager. ​

I do recommend Emerson for his strong values, business focus and management process. In recent year the company also started an evolution to keep itself at the edge of the market and address the new customers and market challenges/opportunities.​

I joined Emerson as a Strategic Planner focusing on the Automation Solutions platform, now core Emerson. I spent 18 months in the role, and the opportunity was far superior than my expectations. The importance of the work and amount of high-level support exceeded what I thought a large company would ask of a new employee, and I was shocked by the executive exposure and engagement that came with the program. Meeting multiple C-level executives and having dinner with the CEO was a highlight for sure, but the consistent (at least monthly) exposure with senior executives deeper in the business I think is unparalleled in MBA programs.

As Emerson's Corporate Marketing Manager, I had the opportunity to develop and influence pivotal global marketing and branding strategies across Emerson. My first week on the job, I raised the need for an improved explanation of our business operations, and to my surprise, this became top priority for our team which includes our CMO. We collaborated with other C-Suite Executives, seasoned agency partners, and subject matter experts to develop refreshed brand assets accessed globally by clients and internal stakeholders. All changes that I executed were unveiled proudly by our CMO at a senior leadership meeting. It dramatically altered Emerson's online brand presence.

I have not heard about anything similar at other industrial companies where so much trust is given to graduates in strategic roles​.

For me personally my assignment as a Strategic Planner with back then Rosemount helped me to learn so much about Emerson, driving business, markets, working with diverse teams. I can go on and on. And also to have fun!​

Emerson overall as opportunity for MBA graduates gets top rating for me. Especially for Europe it is quite unique as not many European industrial companies (e.g. German ones) truly value MBA education and can provide such exciting strategic roles to graduates.

Emerson is a great place to continue the MBA momentum : working with high profile people, coming from diverse environment and culture. This company is in a culture change re-focusing on creating value for people in & out, with sustainability in its core values. Visibility and opportunities through the MBA program path are a great asset.​

Emerson has delivered on the career path promise of the MBA program. I feel that there is a structure in place that makes sure I am challenged enough with extra assignments and new roles. I also really like the company culture, as it is easy to talk to any level in the organization and create collaborations.
