Optimized Level Control and Quality Assurance
A reactor or mixing tank is often at the heart of the process where chemicals are made, requiring reliable and accurate level measurement to ensure high quality, control and consistency of product. In reactor vessels, conditions can be harsh with quickly changing levels, turbulence, changing temperatures and viscous or corrosive media. With the reactor often fitted with agitators, non-contacting radar combined with point level detection technology is ideal for minimal intrusion into the vessel, avoiding obstructions.
Radar level transmitters using different frequencies are needed to solve different process challenges within reactors and mixing tanks. Higher frequency level transmitters such as the 80GHz Rosemount 3408 are suitable for small process fittings and short measuring ranges, while the mid frequency of 26 GHz Rosemount 5408 better suits the more challenging process conditions including presence of vapor and foam.

The Rosemount™ 5408 Non-Contacting Radar Level Transmitter uses enhanced technology and Human Centered Design to deliver accurate, reliable measurements on both liquid and solid materials. The Rosemount 9930 Magnetic Level Indicator is a low-maintenance alternative to sight glasses and other level indicators. It provides non-invasive level indication while reducing leak points and fugitive emissions. The indicator gives you an easy to see level indication that is visible up to 100 ft (30 m) away. It is ideal for your high-temperature, high-pressure and corrosive applications where you want visual indication of both level and interface. When combined with Emerson’s externally mounted level transmitters and switches, the Rosemount 9930 provides you with a complete, redundant and cost-effective level solution.

The Magtech MLT Level Transmitter may be utilized as a direct insertion transmitter for in-pipe measurement or externally mounted to a magnetic level indicator for non-invasive level measurement. The magnetostrictive level transmitter senses the level of fluid in the vessel by detecting the level of the magnets contained within the float and transmits the measurement back to the control system.
