Sustainability Through Energy Efficiency

Covestro has improved its production efficiency by using Emerson’s DeltaV™ PredictPro software to enhance efficiency of a critical batch process. The result has been a more effective reaction, reducing reaction time and improving energy efficiency, while increasing overall production.

Producing hot water is a major energy consumer, so Elmos Semiconductor has installed Emerson Flexim FLUXUS Ultrasonic Flow Meters, capable of measuring volume and temperature, thereby calculating energy consumption of each application, and enabling effective management.

An element of CPC manufacturing is packaging, with machinery that uses large volumes of compressed air to operate actuators and other mechanical equipment. Emerson’s AVENTICS™ Smart Flow Systems helped to determine where leaks existed that led to a reduction of compressed air consumption by 22%.

Oil producers reduce emissions and enhance production by recovering hydrocarbon vapors from equipment and storage tanks—optimizing control by outfitting vapor recovery units with Emerson’s DeltaV SCADA. This creates digital units that empower operators to optimize data collection from any location.
